The professional career of Benoît Pavageau was mainly devoted to tramway project operations and, more broadly, to the development of urban transport projects. He began by participating in the creation of the tramway network in the Lyon area. He then managed the development of tramway and BRT projects in the Toulouse metropolitan area. He is currently Director of Public Transport for the Canton of Geneva, which is the organising authority for all public transport in the area. His department is responsible for planning and implementing the services offered by the various urban, rail and interurban operators. It is also in charge of studies for the various tramway and BRT infrastructure operations. Finally, it is in charge of the cantonal railway strategy in conjunction with the Confederation.
